What to expect at 40 week appointment?

So I have my 40 week appointment this afternoon (even though I officially won't be 40 w till Thurs).  I probably should have asked the doctor this, but what can I expect?  I was 1 cm and 50% effaced last week and they'll let me go to 41 weeks as long as there's no fetal distress.  I'm thinking they might strip my membranes, maybe do a NST or u/s to check for distress.  Maybe schedule an induction for next week? (ick).

    I have my 40 week appointment today and was told that depending on how I'm measuring (as of Friday I was 0 dilation and just barely soft) will decide if we go straight to talking about scheduling an induction. Membrane stripping wasn't discussed on Friday but doing an ultrasound to check on fluid levels and a NST was discussed.

    It totally varies by doctor. If there is no reason to do an NST they won't do one. My doctor's office doesn't do them just because you're XX weeks. My doctor's office doesn't do anything until it is medically necessary, including talking about induction.

    Just had mine today. Membrane stripping was offered if I was dilated, but I wasn't. My induction was scheduled for next week. I am not fighting it because I've been on bedrest for five weeks for PIH and even though I'm stable, with my pre-e history and the current PIH, I don't feel the need to push my body past 41 wks. Honestly, if I had some progress today, I probably would've asked for induction sooner, but right now it wouldn't likely be successful and I really want to vbac.

    My 40 week appt was today and it was just like every other appt except we schedule an induction for 41 weeks since I have made no progress.
