I am filling out my graduation information for my master's degree and it asks for the phonetic spelling of my name. My first name is spelled Beryl and pronounced like Pearl with a B. How would I write that phonetically? I want to avoid being announced as Barrell (Meryl or Cheryl with a
as this is the most natural (and common) way someone unfamiliar with the name would read it.
Thanks!

B-earl, although the spelling is different I think it will get the point across that it isnt b-eryl (which one would assume was said as barrell) or just write in - Pearl with a B! In any event congrats on your masters!
