I'm so excited, my mare finally foaled a pretty little filly Sunday night! At first we were having issues with her figuring out how to eat, and since this is the mare's first foal it wasn't the easiest task. After milking the mare and feeding her with a syringe, we had the vet come out and check everything over, baby is doing great! We've named her Ella, she'll have quarter horse and paint papers and her registered name will be Good Expectations. Her sire is Just Expect It and her dam is Gabriella Good Bar. I'm in love with this filly and can't wait to get her in the show ring!!

Re: New baby in my life (NBR)
Congrats! She is a beauty and great breeding! Are those two tall white socks in the back? That's going to make for a very flashy looker!
My QH mare leaves this weekend =(. She will be going into training (she has been on her winter vacay and my doc won't let me ride). The trainer is going to sell her. My good friend's barn that my horse has been at since she was 2 1/2 is closing her barn this summer and I can't afford to pay board at the moment (in CT the lowest board at a decent place is $800 a month, for the past 6 years I have been working my board off with my friend). And not being able to ride her myself to sell her..... well I'm up sh!t's creek with no paddle. Totally crushed. But I am trying to look on the bright side that my mare will get a great show home and go kick some butt in the ring. Plus I will have a ton of extra time not having to care for the barn 4 days a week to work off my board.
Thanks! She does have two high whites in the back and one on her left front. She also has a pretty blaze.
Sorry to hear about your mare
I thougth I would have to sell my APHA show gelding after finding out I was pregnant, I just bought him in October and was excited to get him in the HUS pen this year. I did some budget adjustments and I should be able to keep him this year, we'll see about next year though. My trainer is going to be showing him for me in the JR HUS and Green HUS classes so we can get some points on him. Luckily in WI board is only $250 at the place I board at, and I pay $650 a month for training...not too bad!
"Help a NYC girl out. There were a few names thrown out there that made me think it is either a baby horse or a baby bird of some kind. (foul / fowl ?) lol...What kind of animal was born?"
She's a horse, I have a picture in the message of her.
Oh that is going to make for a very pretty canter on that lead for sure!!
Wow! That is so inexpensive.... it's hard here in CT. Everything is so expensive and where I am in CT all the NYC horse people board up here and commute to the barn on the weekends - it always keeps show barn prices very high.
Good luck with your new baby and with your gelding & trainer!
