Hostess Gifts?

My first baby shower is being held on Good Friday (April 22).. which is ridiculously early but it is across country.. The shower is being hosted by three of my MIL's good friends.. all of which I have never met..

This group is really big on traditional and I am at a lose for hostess gift ideas.. any thoughts?

    My shower is this weekend and kind of an odd set up...esp since it is sooo early! lol  I am in my home state for only a few more weeks before my husband returns and my family wanted to throw a shower before I return to my home 15 hours away!  Basically my mom has been in charge of a lot of it, but it is being held at my cousin's house...so I felt like I needed to get my cousin something.  I'm buying her a gift card to nice place to eat and offering to watch her three kids while her and her husband have a night out! :)  GOOD LUCK!

    I agree, gift certificates to local coffee shops or tea rooms would be a nice hostess gift.

    I got the girls who threw my wedding shower a magazine subscription on Washingtonian (its a local mag around here)  They love it because it's the gift that keeps on giving :)

    mani/pedi might be nice too.

    I am not a big gift card person, but if it is for a local coffee/tea shop I would wrap it up with a cute mug or travel mug.

    Something like a nice hand lotion is always a nice hostess gift too.

    Thanks for the suggestions. They all live in different parts of the city, so i'm not sure which local shops are by who.. looks like they might end up getting Starbucks gift cards in cute coffee mugs. 

     What denominations would you give??

    I am in the same boat.  Three of my mom's girlfriends are throwing me a shower in another state in June.  I have no idea their tastes or local shops there.  I love this discussion.

    Besides giftcards for mani/pedi or tea/coffee, any other suggestions???

    For my shower I did Bath & Body Works baskets. They had all different sizes and you could add a gift card if you wanted. I did all 3 different scents (for the 3 hostess') so that they could swap them if they wanted too.
