Those who have some insurance coverage for IVF, how long did it take to get the approval or denial back from the insurance company? We had our consult a couple months ago and I haven't heard anything back from the insurance coordinator regarding if our insurance approved or denied our IVF. I have left a couple message for the coordinator but I don't want to be too pushy.
What is the average length of time from submission to an answer?
Re: IVF and insurance
3 IUI's w/Clomid & Ovidrel=all BFNs
3 IVF (2 Fresh, 1 frozen) =BFN
Jan 2012 New RE & Fresh Cycle =BFP!
Hey, Dawg! We submitted our Rx to the insurance company, even though we were pretty sure they'd deny the claim. It took about a week for them to come back and say "hell to the no". Maybe if you gave the insurance coordinator a deadline. Like, "We have to pay our OOP expenses to the RE by April 15. It would be helpful to have some answers about our coverage before then."
ETA: is the insurance coordinator you're talking about at your RE's office or are you calling the insurance company directly? If you haven't already, call the insurance company. You'll be on hold for a million years, but at least you can get the answer directly.
11/11/11 = 5 years. Woah!

Hey girl, it's actually the RE's insurance girl that I am waiting to hear back from. That place is slooow. I just sent her an email so hopefully she will get back to me this time. I want to have all our duck in a row before we go to Costa Rica.
