Useless Coupon Vent

I got not one, but two completely useless coupons today.  They really pissed me off.  The first one came in the mail from Babies R Us.  They were offering us a ten dollar gift card if we started a registry... from a mailing list that we got on for starting our registry.  The flier specifically stated that we couldn't use it retroactively.  The second came from Target.  I went to spend a birthday gift card on some desperately needed maternity clothes.  After buying a top and pants from Liz Lange the cashier handed me... a 3 dollar coupon for a Liz Lange item.  What the hell?  Would anyone like to give me a coupon before I make the relevant purchase?

    Well, the first one about BRU is definitely annoying, but the Target coupon isn't a big deal.  A lot of stores give you a coupon after you purchase something and the point is to use it on your next purchase, so at least you can still use the Liz lange coupon in the future.

    I got the BRU one too, but they got the information off my wish list (they had to; I don't have a registry there yet).I am going to try to redeem it today, so I will see how it goes.

    Target always does this w/their coupons (you can look them up online at their website - there's more Liz Lange ones out there now). I used one last week and got another at the register. Score!

    If you made your BRU registry online you can go into the store and do another one and have them merge the 2 together then use the "gun" to put instore items on there too. And you get the goody bag still :) thats what I did but I had forgotten my $10 coupon :(

    Oh, I know the Target coupon was to encourage me to come back and drop another thirty bucks.  It just annoys me.  As far as the Babies R Us, we registered in the store.  That's how they got our information.  If it was off of a mailing list or something, it would still list my maiden name (I haven't legally changed it yet), instead it was sent to us as a family by our last name.

     I think I'm going to go see if Target retroactively applies coupons.  I so rarely buy things for myself and these clothes were birthday presents.  I probably won't be able to make use of it on something else.
