Does anyone have experience with Fairfax Hospital? I just moved to Reston and was hoping to deliver there, but learned today that my doctor is associated with Fairfax.
I delivered DD#2 there in January 2010 and had a good experience--I wasn't there for much of my labor (#2 came a lot faster than I expected once I went into labor), but the post-partum nurses were really good and helpful. The food was not so great, but you can always have people bring stuff...and I thought someone on this board posted about the food getting better more recently. I did pay the extra for a private room (it was something like $25 because of some special program they had at the time, not sure if that is still the case) and I think that is totally worth it.

Good luck!
It was me, they now give you a pretty extensive cafe menu to order off. The food is definitely better than before and now you can request times for delivery of your food which is also a big improvement.
I delivered both of my babies there. No complaints, no problem getting a private room, and had pretty good experiences both times. The L&D nurses have consistently been fabulous, the post partum nurses varied a bit more.
Deliverd my babies there in August and had a great experience. The food was pretty good, but then I'd already spent a month there on bedrest earlier in the summer, so I knew exact what to order. We thought the post-partum nurses were incredible. They were so sweet and taught us so much. We were a bit sad to leave them.
I delivered there in July. Food was good, ordering and scheduling of it was nice, had no problem getting a private room, and my family had no problems visiting.
