Why is this happening already?!

Why in the world are my shoes so tight? I can't where any shoes other than flip flops. I've heard your feet can grow during pregnancy but seriously already? Thank goodness for yellow boxes!

Did y'alls feet grow during pregnancy? If so, when did you notice it?

  • Mine didn't start till very recently. I'm 32 weeks today, and I had to go get bigger flip flops 3 weeks ago. My SMIL bought me shoes for Christmas in a size too big and in a wide...those don't fit anymore =(  Luckily it's warm enough that I can wear the big flip flops now and not worry about my feet gettin cold.

  • So this is what I have to look forward to??  Does this happen to everyone?  I guess I'm glad I didn't buy those shoes at DSW yesterday.  I probably would have gotten the wrong size!

  • I don't think my feet have "grown" per say, but they stay swollen now so that my regular shoes don't fit. I think its like every other symptom with pregnancy, it's going to affect each one of us differently. But no, I wouldn't go drop a ton of money on shoes right now.

  • I'm 38 weeks today and I can only wear filp flops. I love my yellow boxes ones. (Mine is mostly from swelling.)

  • Yep, my feet grew and were VERY swollen.  I had horrible swelling everywhere so none of my shoes fit.  Luckily by the time all that started happening it became flip flop weather.  I lived in my yellow boxes from then on out.  On a good note though, my feet are back down and none of my preggo yellow boxes fit.
  • Mine did that the last 10 weeks of pregnancy.  Most of it was due to heat and swelling, and luckily it was flip flop weather.  Like Casie though mine went back to normal after birth, so hopefully yours will too!
  • MIne have started doing it this week too. If I wear strappy sandles I notice that by lunch time they are killing me! I am sticking to shoes I can slide off under my desk so no one knows I am bare foot :)

Well I think it can be common, but it didn't happen for me. I fit in my shoes fine. I actually didn't get swollen feet until I was 37 weeks. But, they were really swollen after he was born, and I had to wear slippers home. That was because I had to have a ton of fluids and an IV for most of my stay, though-so it was a side effect of that.

  • I was in an 8-8.5 pre-pregnancy, and now I wear a 9-9.5. They grew and didn't go back. I did experience swelling, and wore flip-flops in the middle of december because my feet were hot and nothing else fit. Hope you have a better experience. Of the different things released in your body when you are pg, one of them is what allows your hips to shift and spread to make room for baby. Sometimes, it affects hands and feet, and causes them to strech out too.
