maternity pants getting tight

I have several pants from motherhood and they are starting to get uncomfortable wearing them all day.  The band that I could fold down earlier is now feeling a lot tighter, especially by the end of the day.  Anyone else feel this way?  I would love pants that stayed below my bump.  It seems like they would be more comfortable.

Re: maternity pants getting tight

  • I had a few pairs that were below the bump, but it was just not working for me...I have all full panel ones now, which are a lot more comfy...LO did not like the band below the bump starting about 4 weeks ago...

  • My motherhood maternity pants got too tight a few weeks ago so I had to do some more shopping.  The Gap "perfect trousers" are a pretty comfortable under-belly style - you might want to look into those.  I got them during the 30% off sale last weekend.  I generally prefer the full panel at this point, but the "perfect trousers" have a really wide elastic waistband so they're still pretty comfortable.

  • I have some that are under the belly and they are becoming really uncomfortable, especially in the car and after eating. :( DH told me to get some new pants, he doesn't want me to feel uncomfortable. I don't want to buy anymore, with only two months to go, but I was pretty miserable yesterday coming home from the dr's office in the car for 1.5 hours.

  • I'm having the same issue with the below the bump pants. They're uncomfortable especially when I'm sitting down. I've found that the full panel ones are much comfier.

  • Most of my pants are full panels, but I have a few under the belly types and I prefer those. The weather is already warm where I live and the extra layer of fabric makes me too hot sometimes.

  • Yeah, I noticed th other day where my full panel pants used to feel almost loose that I'm starting to stretch the panel out a bit.  I have one pair of the under the bump style and it they just don't work for me.  The waist band keeps folding over and pinching!  I wore them yesterday and couldn't wait to get home and take them off, to the point I was wondering if I could drive home in just my underwear!  I figure though that's why there's different styles of pants because we started with different bodies and they just became even more distinct!

  • I can not wear the under belly pants because I am to short and the crotch always hangs a bit.  Not a cute look!  I have full panel maternity jeans from Old Navy but I feel like the band is putting pressure on my belly, so I just ordered more one size up.  I really like the secret fit from Motherhood but they never have the style I want.
  • I have a pair of panel jeans and a pair of no panel-under-belly jeans.  They are both tight now but the under belly ones are worse!  Especially sitting down...they dig really hard and I just feel squished.

I went out last week and bought a pair of sweatpants at motherhood...they were only $15 so it wasn't so bad.

I also find my nursing bras are feeling extra tight around the ribs which makes breathing difficult...I bought a bra extender...it's much better now.

My under belly pants are all feeling too small, and I've started noticing that about half of my maternity shirts don't really fit well anymore.  It's hard to know what to do at this point because it seems silly to buy new stuff this late in the game, but it's obviously not fun being uncomfortable either.

everyone's different but my two pairs of pants that are a bit below the bump don't stay up very well!  the problem with my pants is that the legs are getting a bit snug.  i borrowed them from a friend and i'm just hoping that i can keep the weight gain in my legs down enough so that i won't have to buy a bunch of new pants:(

  • My under the belly pants worked well for the second tri, but now most of them just fall down and are uncomfortable.  I prefer the full panel.  My pants are also getting a little tight, but are still wearable.  I refuse to buy more pants, I'm going to try and make it on what I have and dresses for the last two months.
  • Even if I was to buy new pants, I wouldn't even know which ones to buy.  Too bad I can't go to work in sweats!
