So i've been feeling pretty hopeless and pretty much had given up hope of a VBAC because of my liver enzyme levels and such. Because of a liver related condition i was induced at the end of 35 weeks and had a failed induction with my son which led to my first c/s.
Today, I met with my doctor and he basically told me that IF this bloodwork shows that I do in fact have cholestasis that he will do all he can with medicine to prolong this pregnancy as long as it's safe for baby. He even said if we do have to do a c/s because of boodwork levels then he will see how my cervix looks and how the baby is to see if we can at least try labor (if things look promising) and he will use whatever methods are safe to attempt a vbac if things look hopeful with my cervix and with baby. This is soo much more than i thought I would get today. I thought he'd basically schedule a c/s for 37 weeks but he's still in this with me and I feel hopeful again.
I would never do anything that would compromise the baby's health and I know my doctor has that in his mind first and foremost as well which is why i'm comfortable with OUR plan right now. It's a waiting game, but at least there's a plan. ![]()
