Any suggestions for affordable decals?

We are doing a baby safari theme and fell IN LOVE with decals on etsy, but they are quite pricy. 20 for each small animal and 45-95 for the large ones. I don't know about spend 300 plus on decals! Any suggestions. I have been scouring Google, but haven't seen the anything close the adorable faces on these particular ones.

Also quick etsy question. Is it like an Amazon? TIA!

  • Walmart has a limited selection of decals but you get a bunch for I think 10 dollars each..shouldnt be any more than 12..We got some for DD's room last time..

Etsy is like amazon but a lot of the things are home made..Try amazon and ebay too.

  • I don't have an answer, but am interested in other's responses... also- I am wondering if people have used them before and if they had trouble getting them off of the walls-  I love them but we rent... so I'm nervous to put them up!

Check out etsy.com.  I've found a bunch of cute decals and they are all independent designers.  I like to support small businesses.  I actually emailed one of the designers to see if I can mix and match some of her designs.  So, you can request specifics which is an added plus for me.

  • Try ebay, I got a name decal for DS but there maybe some sellers who do animal decals.

  • I have gotten some really cheap cute graphics from Wilson Graphics. DS's room is all done in a fireman theme and his color graphics were better than any others that I have seen and he is reasonable.  The place I get the ones for my living room and such is stickywords.net.  The owner there has done a lot of custom stuff for me in the past and I have been very happy with her.

  • Try Michaels or AC Moore. We were told about wallies for DS's new big boy room which look pretty cool. Some are more expensive than others. If you can get a store coupon though, you could be in great shape!

  • Depending on how artistic you are and what exactly you are wanting to put up, you can make your own pretty easily. You can buy contact paper from Home Depot or probably even a craft store and either just trace and cut out your design (if you get patterned paper) or paint your design on clear/white contact paper and cut out. Then just peel and stick.

I have used "homemade" decals on our walls as we are also renters and have never had a problem with peeling them off/ruining the walls.

  • Amazon.com!   What doesn't that site have?  I've found the majority of decals I liked on etsy for way cheaper on Amazon.

  • Believe it or not, I found some at Ross and got them for my sister.  They are adorable.  Of course, that can be really hit or miss because each Ross has such different items in stock.

My Hobby Lobby and Michaels also had some cute ones.

  • I was going to do a decal, but my mom had a good question.  "What if it comes off the wall and falls in the crib...won't that be a choking hazard?"  I'm going to do a stencil of a branch above the crib instead.  It is slightly cheaper, and if I don't like the color, I can always buy new paint and try again.

  • You can also do an Alchemy request on etsy.  You put a description of what you want, and people send you the price they would charge you for it.
  • Have you checked out www.dalidecals.com? They seem reasonably priced. Also, you could also check out www.enchantingquotes.com if you were looking for the vinyl quotes. I am on their facebook page and they have a discount code for their fb fans. Good luck! Smile
