Cancer update

So, my FIL starts treatment for pancreatic cancer tomorrow.  It's spread to his liver, but it's still early-ish.  That pulmonary embolism he had last month was a blessing in disguise!  It's still grim, but he should at least feel better after treatment, and they should be able to do surgery after the chemo.  

My brother just got a second opinion on his cancer situation, and they told him it's not as bad as he was told initially.  He'll still need chemo and surgery, but it's early enough that it should get under control pretty easily. 

Rom asked his work what his options were as far as leave, and they told him family is hugely important, they would work something out.  That's a relief, we were worried because he's only been there just over six months.  I need to talk to my OB to make sure I'm okay to travel, and then we go from there.  

Thanks, you guys, for all the well-wishes.  This is no fun.

    Oh gosh Amy! I am so very sorry! What a stressful time. I am so glad that both situations seem to be better than originally thought. Also, it sounds like Rom works for a great company!

    I am so sorry you are dealing with all of this.  T & Ps to you and your family.  So glad Rom's work is being so kind.  That really helps during times like this.  Take care of you and your girls!

    I'm glad that your brother got some good news. Hopefully your OB will clear you for travel. You must be very stressed so make sure you take care of yourself and that little one inside of you. ::hugs:

    I am so glad that Rom's job is understanding and willing to come up with a plan.  That has got to be a big relief.  Now just to hear from the OB - will keep my fingers crossed for you.

    Amy it is good that you are getting some positive news about your FIL and brother.  It is still so tough you are having to deal with all of this while pregnant.

    That's good news about the cancers being caught early. I hope everything turns out well for both your FIL and brother. T&P Smile
    Me: 44 DH: 42. DS born healthy at 40 weeks 8/24/09. TTC since then with no luck or ART. Surprise BFP 8/6/14... MMC @ 8 weeks 4 days... Miss you everyday sweet baby angel.
