I was pretty worried about taking the Glucose Tolerance Test...i had read some horror stories on line like i'm sure a lot of people have about how horrible it is. I just thought i'd write and say that it wasn't all that bad. I had the fruit punch flavor, the flavor wasnt terrible. I have a hard time drinking things fast, so i brought a straw to help me drink it faster. That was probably the worst part of the whole thing. I felt a sugar high for a few minutes, but never felt sick.
Hopefully i helped ease a few people's worries about the test. I was pretty worked up before hand not knowing quite what to expect, but it wasn't nearly as horrible as a lot of people described to be.

Re: Glucose Tolerance Test, not that bad...
I completed mine on Friday and you're absolutely right - it's not that bad! The worst part is fasting beforehand and we hungry mommas need to eat.
I had the orange soda and other than a few sore veins at the end of the day, it was a piece of cake (or, errr carrots!)
I know! I went in the office panicking. I def did not look forward to taking the test. But it wasnt as bad as I expected.
It wasn't pleasant either but definitely not as bad.
When during what week did you ladies get the test done? My doctor hasnt said anything about it.
Same here!
The GT test was a breeze for me. No worries.
I think it depends on if you get the 1hr test vs the 3hr test. Knowing you can eat/drink after an hour is a whole lot easier to deal with then having to wait 3hrs!
With DD, we lived in a small town & my dr only did the 3hr test, which was awful!
