I have Tricare Prime, I was browsing the website and looking at what all is covered and It said that they do not cover finding out the sex. I guess that makes sense since its not something NEEDED but, will they cover it if I find out the sex while my doctor checks the anatomy? I know thats usually when they tell you the sex anyways, so pretty much my question is does tricare cover anatomy exams?
During the anatomy scan, if they can see the sex and you want to know, yes they will tell you. But if the baby doesn't cooperate and they can't determine sex, there is no going back for another scan. Some people pay OOP for the 3d/4d places to find out the sex.

I had a total of 9 u/s with my LO at Ft Hood. Some were done in the Family Medicine clinic, some in Radiology, some in the Women's Health Clinic, and one in the ER. I have never seen a sign that they will not tell you the sex, and starting at week 14 they always looked and commented on the sex with every single u/s. As someone that has worked at Darnall for 5 years, I can tell you that there is no hospital policy that prevents them from telling you the sex of the baby during the u/s.

We have Prime (well Prime Remote) as well, and we found ours out when we went for our routine 20-22 wk u/s. DD1 they only did traditional u/s, but w/ DD2 we had a different doc b/c we moved and they did the 3/4D u/s and they covered them both. So I think what they mean is that they won't cover an u/s that is specifically or ONLY to determine sex, but it doesn't really end up mattering b/c they cover the routine ones and u can find out then anyway (they don't put in the request for payment to Tricare whether they told u the sex or not, so they wouldn't know the difference...)
Melanie Paige was born 7/7/10 @ 8:48 AM- 7 lbs 4 oz, 19 in!
Lana Michelle was born 1/9/07 @ 9:40 AM- 6 lbs 14.5 oz, 19.5 in!
