Applying for life insurance sucks...

I feel like I'm being violated here. When we started going over my health history, I was just imagining the premium going up and up and up with every little thing I said!

The freaking application is 21 pages. It reminds me of when we applied for a mortgage. We have our physical exam next Thursday. I cannot wait until this is all over!

  • I hated when they came here to do the physical on DH. The children were like "Why is daddy getting a needle at our house?" Gross.

  • My dh and I just got additional life insurance a couple months ago.  I did hate having to fill out everything and the exam sucked.  The nurse gave me a hard time about my blood pressure and heart rate (both were a little high).  I was nervous (white coat syndrome).  She also stuck me six times, three times in each arm.  It was insane.  She was never able to get any blood.  Another nurse came out the following week and was able to draw blood the first time.  It was an ordeal, but worth it in the end.  After my exam, blood work, and urinalysis, I qualified for the lowest rate for a 33 year old.  That made me very happy!

Ha, this sounds like my experience.  They finally got blood from the back of my hand.  Ouch.  But, I got the lowest rates too despite still having baby weight.  WooHoo.

  • The whole process of getting life insurance can be quite overwhelming and you may find answering all the personal questions regarding your health, family history, credit record, etc. extremely frustrating.

But believe me, when it?s all over (which will be soon) you?ll be left with an immense sense of relief that your loved ones will be provided for should something happen to you.
