Re: Sudafed

  • Yes but only a certain type so make sure you ask the pharmacy which one and let them know your pregnant.

  • My doc said yes, but not for more than 48 hours.
  • Only the one you need to sign for behind the counter..With sudaphedrine.
  • My doc said no to sudafed (or any other congestion med). I'd call your doctor to double check what he/she recommends.

  • My OB and pharmacist says yes.  The one behind the counter.  I took it for 4 or so days during first trimester....  baby doing well.  I would check with your OB.

  • I have terrible allergies and took a LOT of sudafed before (if my allergies were bad, 2 a day for weeks at a time).  Once I found out I was pg, I totally stopped after DH (who is a doctor) told me it was a Class C drug.  My OB says it's fine, so I'm kind of conflicted - I really try not to take it unless I have a completely debilitating headache because it's the only thing that truly helps.  I also react pretty strongly to medications - I can sleep for days after one benadryl, so I have major concerns about the stimulant effect of Sudafed.

  • my OB said after 16 weeks its ok. I think the biggest concern with it is that it raises your heart rate.
