Tilted Uterus Question? Please help!!!!

Here is my situation.......

I had an ultrasound with my last pg at 7 weeks and the tech couldnt find my uterus, she said it was because they had a less advanced u/s, I ended up miscarrying a week later dignosed by u/s at 8w and baby showed to be 6w3d.

Well Im pg again and went for an u/s at about 5w2-3d all they saw was a g-sac and it was too small to measure, But they saw it with both the abdominal u/s and the transvag one, but It looked smaller with the transvag u/s

I went back today (10days later) I should be almost 6w4-6d and the u/s showed a g-sac 12mm with no yoke or hb. I measure 5w1d

I could maybe bee one week off on my O date but I couldnt be that far off!

So Im freaking out! but then Im reading on the net all these stories of women who measured 2w behind with empty g-sacs untill 9-10 week, all because they had a tilted uterus, OB tried to talk them into a d&c say that they were like 99% sure it was a m/c, then they went on to catch up to their edd and have healthy babies!

Has anyone here experinced this?

Im thinking that my ute is super tilted that why they couldnt even see it at 7w last time with the crap machine.......Am I just wishfull thinking?

The Dr say a tilted ute wount affect an u/s, but I can believe all these ladys are lieing!!!!!!

Her is an example of what Im reading

I have a tilted uterus and had an early ultrasound at 5 weeks due to some spotting and at that ultrasound all they could see was a "possible" sac. They wanted to repeat the ultrasound the next week at 6 weeks. That time they saw the sac had grown but still appeared empty. The Tech started to freak me out and wanted me to be prepared for a blighted ovum. They scheduled me for a third ultrasound at almost 8 weeks. This time we saw a yolk sac, a little baby and a heartbeat!! It is amazing the difference that even a week makes!"

What do you think?

do you have a tilted ute?

Thank you so much for reading this far!!!!!

Re: Tilted Uterus Question? Please help!!!!

  • I've personally never heard of that. I have a tilted uterus and have never had any issues with u/s techs finding it (and that includes at the RE's office when there isn't anything in there but lining). If there hasn't really been any growth (and it sounds like there hasn't?) in the past 10 days, I'd say there's a very good chance this will not be your take home baby. I'm sorry. On the other hand, I don't think there's anything wrong with getting a 2nd opinion or waiting another week or so for another u/s. GL!

  • I don't have a tilted uterus, however, here's my story:

I'm currently pregnant with my first baby - I'm currently 23w5d.  When I first went in for an ultrasound to date the pregnancy I was right at 6 weeks.  On the transvag ultrasound they saw the gestational sac and a yolk sac, but no fetus.  The yolk sac and gestational sac measured at 5 weeks and some change.

My doctor had me go back in approximately 10 days later for another transvag ultrasound.  This time there was a gestational sac, a yolk sac and a fetus with a heartbeat.  The fetus measured 6 weeks and some change.

I'm pretty sure I ovulated later than normal (plus we were using ovulation predictors).  So it is possible that you just aren't far enough along yet and so you can't visualize the baby.

    Good luck!

  • I have a tilted uterus and things are OK... however, I didn't even realize I was pregnant until I was pushing 8 weeks... I hope everything works out! Good luck!!

  • I have a tilited uterus and they haven't had problems finding it or baby on any u/s. This time I had one at 5 weeks and they found everything right away on an abdominal and then did measurements transvag. Happy thoughts your way that everything is ok.

  • I have a tilted uterus and dated behind in early ultrasounds/thinks were more difficult to see.

Out of curiosity how are you so sure your O date wasn't that far off? Do you temp or use OPKs?

  • I have a tilted uterus with all my pregnancies. But, they were able to find the baby with the transvag u/s.  So, maybe they need to try harder or something.  It didn't take them long to find the baby or the heartbeat.
