What would you do? (nbr)

This is random and could be nothing..

My dog is out barking in the yard at this truck that's driving down the alley. It stops slowly behind my house. He won't stop barking so I go try and stop him..the truck is sitting right behind my house and has 2 guys in it. They see me and drive away. Then I get scared. DH is OOT and now I'm all freaked out! I know it's probably nothing...but eek!

Re: What would you do? (nbr)

  • Call the police.  Give them a description of the truck and let them know...just in case.  DH is a cop and people call about that stuff all the time!  He and his coworkers have no problem driving through the neighborhood just to see whats up!

On a completely unrelated note...I thought there was no crime in Canada!  I've always wanted to leave the states and move there!  It always seems like the most perfect place to live...so it must be nothing!

     Right!?!?

  • I second calling the police. You could always call the non-emergency number if you are hesistant to call 911. Most cops I've talked to said they have no problems with driving by certain houses or checking out areas if someone sees something that looks off.
  • Problem is I can't really remember anything about the truck except the color...argh!

And the crime thing...yes Canada has crime, but no one carries guns on them hardly ever..LOL I dunno??? We do have a much better health care system though.

  • I would call the police... ask if they can do a couple well being checks through the night... just drive by and check it out

  • Yes, if you can look up the non-emergency phone number for the police and give them a call, let them know you are home alone and worried, it seems suspicious. I would be freaking out if I were you and we don't have a lot of crime either.

This and also let them know you're pregnant!

  • I also suggest the non-emergency dispatch line.  I've called on sketchy characters before (like the "North Carolina furniture distributors" with a logo-less semi selling furniture out the back) or people stealing construction materials from houses being built near me.  A few times the sheriff has caught them (and I do a little cheer, lol).

Me personally I'd grab my dog and arm my alarm (in addition to calling it in)... MH is paranoid about me and DD here when he travels so much so he had one put in this winter.

  • Call the non emergency number.  Also, do you have a friend that could maybe come over for a little while?  I would call my sis to come over or someone else!

  • Well first I would grab my gun, then I would arm the alarm.  Smile

Be careful and definitely take pp's advice to call the police and have them stop by and check on you.
