Last night was night #4 of my 5.5-mo-old and my 18-mo-old sharing a room. You can see my posts about nights 1 and 2 below (they are still on this page - slow board!).
Anyway, the babies now completely sleep through each other's crying, both in the middle of the night and in the morning. I never in a million years would have thought it would be this easy, and that they would adjust so soon. But last night I went in once to nurse DD2. Then she slept until 9:15 (!!!), and DD1 until 9:45. DD1 did not wake up when DD2 did either time, even though the baby cried pretty loud.
I was prepared to give it a week, and if it didn't get any better after seven nights, we were going to give up and try again later. No need!
So, to all those who are worried about this, my advice is to just dive
in!
Re: Update on room-sharing
WOW!!! I'm impressed and would love more updates as you get further along in the process.
We are in the process of cleaning out our 3rd bedroom for DD#1 and then keeping the nursery for when DD#2 arrives in June. I would love to make one of the rooms a playroom and the girls share the nursery until they are older but I'm so afraid of the sharing being a disaster.
Ditto!!!
