If you switched from a center to in-home DC

Did your LO stop getting sick so much? We are thinking about switching for more reasons that that one, but I was thinking about what a bonus it would be if she wasn't sick so much.

Re: If you switched from a center to in-home DC

  • We are actually thinking of switching from in-home to a center (for other reasons..).  My DS has been sick almost every other week since he started at an in-home daycare 6 months ago .. so I don't think it would've made a difference for us if he was in a center :)

  • Absolutely!  My daughter was sick ALL the time in the center.  Now with 2 they have been at an in-home daycare since June and they have both only been sick a few times...WAY less than the year before.

  • My DD goes to a sitter w/ 1 other little girl.  She's never been sick.

  • Mine was sick less, but I think it had more to do with age than the actual place, because he is back in a center and is sick less than when he was at the in-home.  I think that it just something they have to "grow out of".
