uterus too small?

Hello everyone!! Im new on this forum and this is my first post. I went to the Dr today for a routine checkup (i'm 21 weeks), and the DR said my uterus should be to my naval and its not. Im going for an ultrasound next Monday, she said she is not concerned yet and wants to see what the ultrasound shows.  Has anyone had this problem?

Re: uterus too small?

  • *I* measured small throughout my entire pregnancy. DS, however, always measured big on the ultrasound. I had one doctor terrify me because she said I wasn't eating right; I would have a tiny baby; I was irresponsible, etc. It really upset me because I was doing the right things. I saw a NP, who I saw 95% of the time, and she figured out why I measured so small. DS was breech until I was 35 weeks. He was layin across my belly, with his hands and feet up at the top. My uterus didn't have to stretch up because of the way he was laying. Instead, it stretched out. For the record, DS weighed almost nine pounds at birth.

  • Ok...that makes me feel better because the ultrasound I had at 18 weeks they told me he was 9oz where most babies at that point are 7-8oz.  So I was confused about how my uterus is measuring small (about the size of a 19 week uterus) and i am 21 weeks, with a big baby.   The Dr did tell me that the baby was breech also, so maybethat has something to do with it like it did for you.
