Baby Shower Favor Idea

I'm helping to throw a baby shower for a friend of mine and I need some help with favors. I really don't want to spend a fortuned (especially because she's got 45 people on the invite list.) Any creative (inexpensive) favors for a little boy shower?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Baby Shower Favor Idea

  • I did cookies wrapped in tulle with the recipe attached by ribbon for my friends most recent baby shower. I made these Cowgirl Cookies since I knew she was having a girl but you could easily do blue m&m's instead of pink or even blue and red. It wasnt very expensive just more time consuming than anything to bake that many cookies (I have about 8 cookies per person or something like that) with 45 people you could do only like 3-5 cookies.

  • I made cake pops for my friends, I made them look like cupcakes on a stick and dipped in chocolate for base and blue and orange white chocolate for top then did rainbow sprinkles.  I wrapped in clear plastic with blue/orange ribbon with a tag on them that said "Thanks for being Wildly Excited for Tina" since theme was Safari.  Everyone loved them!

  • Is there any kind of theme? In general, the shower favors I tend to prefer (read: actually do something with other than toss out) would be something edible or plantable.
  • For my sisters shower it was a sports theme and I did cracker jacks for each person. They are 3 boxes for .99 at WalMart. I then made cute little tags and put on each of them. They were a hit.

The tags had little footballs/baseballs/basketballs etc... and then said

Dust off your ball, bat & glove and get ready to play. Our little slugger Aidan is on his way.

  • These are really cute ideas! There really isn't a theme, other than the colors. The shower is at her house. (Long story but all the "hosts" are from out of town.) So we picked Aqua, Red and Brown as the colors which match her nursery.

  • I did chocolate covered pretzel rods for a few showers- they are super simple to make (rods and candy coating from Kroger) and then purchased clear bags at Kroger to wrap them in- I tied them with its a boy or its a girl ribbon and usually put colored sugar on them (tip the good stuff from Sur La table is expensive but worth it for something like this)- they are pretty cheap and easy to make and everyone loved them.
  • I used a candy mold and made chocolate baby buggy suckers for my friend's shower. I tied the bag with pink ribbon and added a tag with the baby's name.
