I don't have terrible heartburn at 24 weeks right now- not so bad I need a prescription for something, but enough that it's a bother. I read somewhere that products that contain aluminum (i.e. tums, maalox, etc.) should be avoided. Has anyone else heard of this? What is your most successful remedy?

Re: What are you doing about heartburn?
I hear ya, my heartburn is horrible. It wakes me up at night. I sleep with my head raised which seems to help a little bit. I also take tums and malox as needed. I am going to the doctor today and I am going to ask for something else b/c they are not cutting it.
good luck!

I have GERD (acid reflux). Luckily I've gone the first 5.5 months of this pregnancy without much discomfort and avoided taking medication as long as possible. But now it is getting to me. The OB said it is safe to take my Nexium Rx and tums.
A glass of milk works wonders for heartbburn.
