Your doppler

So I just got mine in and call me crazy but I found my pulse at first.  Did this happen to any of you?  I knew it was mine bc I have a rather low pulse and would watch my stomach bounce up and down (due to my pulse) as the doppler picked it up. I also found my pulse on my wrist, while listening to the doppler and it was exactly the same. 

After trying a few times, I finally found the baby's pulse which was SO high and so much faster.  I counted it to be 156 bpm.  

So my question again is, can this happen?  Can the doppler pick up your pulse even though it's pointed into your stomach?  Or bigger question for myself and my doctor....is there two babies in there!? haha  I doubt it but I got tomorrow so I'll ask her.

    You were probably picking up your own heartbeat at first... which would be the same as your pulse... if it was slow it's not 2 babies... both would be really fast.

    At my last appt, the dr got mine and babies on the doppler at the same time. So yup! It's possible!

    Thanks ladies, that's reassuring.  Of course we'd welcome twins with open arms, but this is my first time and one is plenty for now Smile

    I always find mine first and it is always over 100 (Yes, I know it is high for me, but that's how it goes.) The babies is fluctuates between the 150s,160s and 170s.

    Yes indeed - I can always find mine in my pelvis whenever I use my doppler.  It's a bit lower in my pelvis than baby's.  I know it's mine because of the number that shows up on my doppler's screen.  Then, I move it around and I find baby's...which is 140-150.

    I typically find mine before I can find the baby's -- especially when baby was lower.  Between the femoral artery and all of the blood running into your ute, it is not surprising.  You can definitely tell the difference though.  Baby's is much faster.
