Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Extra gassy in the early am?

My baby pretty much STTN but lately has been waking up at 6 just to snuggle/sleep together until 7.  I have noticed between 6-7 that she is pretty restless and extra squirmy, kicking her legs around until she either farts or poops.

This could just be 'her time' to go now but a few people have mentioned that it's common to be gassy in the early am. Is this true?

She doesn't ALWAYS get up at the this time but most of the time she does.  I am wondering if she is waking up for comfort while she's gassy rather than just wanting to snuggle :P

  • DS is the same way.  He'll wake up in his crib and you'll hear him moving and he'll talk a little bit, pass some gas and sometimes poop, then go right back to sleep.  He's much more gassy in the a.m. than any other time of day.

  • DS is the same way although it's getting better.  I used to get so frustrated because I was pretty sure the gas was waking him up.  Now he seems to fart all.day.long but I don't think his stomach bothers him much to worry about it.

P.S. Baby farts are hilarious to me!
