I've always been a patient of Sewickley and love it. Heard great things about their maternity ward. I'm 6 weeks along and unfortunately my OB is Heritage valley but only affiliated with the Medical Center of Beaver. I've heard nothing but great things about Sewickley. FYI...if you feel that you need more time at the hospital ask for it. I recently had a friend deliver at Sewickley and she had vaginal birth and they discharged her 24 hours later. Not cool in my eyes. The reason is because the hospital gets the full amount from your insurance company regardless of how long the hospital releases you.....this means supposed to be 2 days for vaginal. If they discharge you in one, they pocket the other days worth of money from the insurance company.
The reason I know this is my mother works for Cigna and she stated that hospitals do this constantly to save money.
For the first two girls I used Magee Womancare Associates of Wexford.
I haven't started with an OB yet this pregnancy but I was planning to put a call in to Premier Women's Health, specifically I've heard good things about Dr. Santerini.

I used to go to Dr. Cirucci in Premier Womens Group. She was ok but seemed like she was a little judgemental. My mother goes to Dr. Santerini and loves her. But as you know, as an OB patients, you see all doctors in the practice. Dr. Labuda and Dr. Foose(not sure of spelling) as absolutely awful. I had a friend that delivered with both and absolutely hated it. She stated that they treated her like just another delivery and didnt talk to her the entire time. Dr. Foose actually told her husband that the family was being too loud and he couldnt hear the Steeler game. She stated that she would never go back for her third child, to which she didnt. The final straw was when she miscarried and was told by Dr. Labuda that "its not big deal, women miscarry all the time". She left.
My other friend had Dr. Cirucci for delivery and stated that she hated her while she was going for appointments but loved her for delivery. Said she was very compassionate.
I left the practice because of me moving furthur North in Beaver. I now go to Tri-State OB-GYN. Doctors Youngdahl and Rumbaugh. I truly love the practice, however my only complaint is the rudeness of the secretaries and they are afflitiated with the Medical Center in Beaver not Sewickley. The doctors are great but staff not so nice. I have gone through IF treatments and kind of always felt like I had to "wing it" and didnt get personalized care or understanding.
thanks for the input. I wish i could keep my Dr and just change hospitals lol My delivery was fine it was just the nurses and post partum care I hated. I am trying to decide between Sewickley and Mercy (because I hear they have Labor, Delivery, Recoery, Post Partum rooms)
I just hate Dr. shopping!

Hi, I'm delivering at Sewickley. My mom had my youngest brother (he's 9 now) there and she said it was the best hospital she delivered in Pittsburgh (I'm one of 5...)
I've been going to premier women's health for years and have been really happy with all the staff.
