Trouble TTC

Would you call your RE?

So DH is bugging me to call the RE because AF JUST ended.  Good Riddens!!  ;-)

I had 5 days of lots of spotting followed by a 13 day AF (ended yesterday).  Since I've been off BCP my cycles have gotten worse and worse but never this long/bad.  The RE suspects Endo already and wants me to do a Lap so I'm not sure what if anything calling him with this update will do.  I will of course mention it during our next appt. (not yet scheduled).

Re: Would you call your RE?

  • If it already ended, there isn't really anything the RE could do. If you can't get in before your next AF I would call to see if there's anything they can give you to make it more bearable until you can get in for a lap. Also laps should be done during AF or right after it ends, so maybe look at scheduling when AF is expected.

  • What did he tell you to do at your last appointment? Call him with updates? Schedule a lap? I only ask because I always left the RE with kind of a plan on when to call/what to do next...

I might call and just say- hey this just happened, I am concerned, can you check with the doctor to see if I should schedule a time to come in or what my next step should be?

This was exactly my thinking.  Nothing they could do about it now.  Was distracted with family in town the last 2 weeks.

We are supposed to get together with our RE after DH's urology appt. which will be before my next AF so I will ask them if there is anything they can give me to make it more bearable.  That is a good idea.  I figured already that I would at least mention it while I was there.

My Lap will not happen until we have a handle on the sperm issues.

The way we left it was the next step was for DH to see a Urologist.  We then need to schedule an appt. to meet back with the RE.  I'm thinking I'll just mention it to him then since it should be soon.  If it ends up being a while before we can get into see him I guess I'll put a call into him about it (before next AF arrives).

  • My AF was the same way after BCP, it was crazy. I do not see the point in calling the RE, especially if you are going to schedule an appointment. GL on the Lap!
