Now I know this is way too early to get excited over but I can't help it! I'm almost 14 weeks and went in for an ultrasound to check for genetic disorders. Turns out this test is only offered until the baby is a certain size and my baby is already too big. Big babies run in my family... not too excited about anticipating the labor of this little chubster but so glad he is healthy! The ultrasound tech was really nice and went ahead and did some measurements anyway and told me he looks perfectly normal! Hooray!! I asked if it was too early to determine the sex, which I obviously knew the answer to, but she said we'd go ahead and look anyway. Even though it's way too early to call it, we definitely saw a little penis! She told me she was almost positive it was going to be a boy. We saw it from multiple angles and there was no mistaking it, it definitely looked like a boy! I'm really trying hard not to get too excited over it but I can't help it! Since the beginning I've felt like it was a boy... no real reason why, I just kept subconsciously saying "he" when I talked about the baby. I really didn't care either way if it was a boy or a girl but I feel like it becomes so much more real when you find out the sex. Even if it turns out to be a girl I will still be thrilled, but I just needed to share my excitement!!!

Re: ultrasound--early sex determination!!
YAY! That is so exciting.. Congrats on finding it was a boy
Even though its early do you have any names picked out.. I had a feeling early on that I was going to have a boy but now its changed to a girl. I guess my heart and mind cant decide what we want. BUT I do get to find out in 8 weeks what I will be having. Reading your post made my day! I am just so excited for you and I dont even know you. Silly huh?
This.
And also, if you went in for your NT screen, it's not about baby's size, it's weeks gestation. It's able to be administered until 13w6d, so I'm not sure why they told you baby was too big.
I had to have an emergency ultrasound at 14wk+3d because of some bleeding .... the ultrasound tech said everything looked great - it ended up being a subchornic hematoma - long story short - we were talking about gender and she said she's been able to tell the gender as early as 14 weeks - she's been doing this for 20 years ... anyway ... she said she's fairly certain Im having a girl!!!
Of course we are excited just like you - because I've had girl vibes from the time I found out I was pregnant.
We are scheduling an elective ultrasound next week {16 weeks} to confirm - and then the 16 wk ultrasound will be double checked at our 18 wk anatomy scan!
That is so exciting! I had an u/s at 13w6d, and the tech made a strong guess for a boy, and we definitely saw a bulge and nub! Then I had an u/s at 14w4d, and a different tech agreed that she would be surprised if baby wasn't a boy!
We are thrilled, but we are trying to remain neutral just in case!
I was 13 weeks 6 days to be exact, but she said it has to do with the length of the baby's spine to be able to get an accurate reading.
Like I said though, I wasn't really hoping for a boy or a girl so my hopes aren't necessarily up, it just makes it a bit more real when you can put a sex to it. I guess it becomes less of a baby and more of a little person! So for now he's my little boy, but if he ends up being a she then that's just perfect too.
Thank you!! I get excited when I read other people's posts about finding out these things about their babies too! I think because you know that you will be in the same situation soon and it gets you excited to feel that excitement... if that makes sense! We really didn't have our hopes up either way, my intuition just told me it was going to be a boy and I felt excited to know I might be right!
