Trush????

Can someone tell me about trush?  I am a first time mom and kind of think my baby is getting thrush.  My baby sister told me a little about it.  My baby has a slight white tinge to her tongue from the middle to the back.  Is this trush?  Thx!

    Sounds like it.  My DD has had this for 3 weeks and she's had to take 2 cycles of Nystatin.  It finally started to get better when I began wiping her tongue with sterile gauze after feedings.  I would check with your doctor.

    Not necessarily. It could very well be milk tongue. Although, I do agree that she should just check with her doctor if she suspects it.

    Either way, you have to check with your doctor because it requires a prescription to get it to clear up.

    Thrush does not have to be on the tongue. My ds has it right now (been treated since 2/14) and it is NOT on his tongue at all. He has it in his cheeks, top lip, and bottom lip but not on his tongue.

    Thrush does not wipe off. It may bleed a little bit if you try to rub it off and it does not come and go.
