haha that's funny. my boss is a vegetarian and has 3 boys...also I'm not a strict vegetarian but have eaten meat maybe twice in the last year before getting pregnant and maybe twice while I've been pregnant and I'm having a boy ; )
I was a vegetarian when I got pregnant. I've been eating meat since I was about two or three months along. My body was craving it. But, I was full on vegetarian before that and I'm having a boy.
I know 4 friends who are vegetarians and they only have girls...coincidence or what??
THe sperm is what makes the sex of the baby, women (the egg) has no say in the matter.
So yes it is just a coincidence!
There are a lot of studies that have been done on the role of diet and nutrition of the mother on natural sex selection. So it isn't a totally out there question. I do think that the role that diet plays is very, very small and that in the case of the OPs's friends it's probably coincidental.
It is the sperm that determines the sex but the environment that the sperm is in can harm or help certain types of sperm. I have 4 boys and definitely think there is something to it.

I'm glad i'm not the only one! I has a vegetarian when I got pregnant too but the only thing i was craving a few months in was beef. I don't eat any other meat besides beef and I try to keep it at a minimum but it can get really hard sometimes. Maybe we just need the extra iron?

I (and my DH) are veg and are *probably* having a boy. Amongst my friends (where both spouses are vegetarian) there are: 5 boys and 4 girls...not exactly overwhelming evidence of more "boy-ness" due to the diet.

This is why we NEED sex ed in schools.

It looks like you had 2 smashed faced furbabies! The one in the middle or your sig turned out pretty cute!
