F/U-Date Night

Awesome, awesome time!   GBS was in rare form, since this was the last show of their very long tour.   Music was top notch.  I am hoarse from singing at the top of my lungs and ache all over from jumping and dancing the whole time.

They played about three hours, minus a short intermission.   Lots of older songs, including Meri Mac, End of the World and many many others.  Plus a bunch from their latest album, too.   The venue was really unique--an old round movie house that has been transformed into a little concert hall.  Great acoustics and the band really seemed to enjoy the place.

DH and I finished date night by getting ice cream at the McDonalds drive-thru.  How romantic.

  • I am glad you had fun! And for the record, I think McD's has awesome ice cream :)

  • Still sooooo jealous!! Wink Glad you had a great time, it never fails to be a great time at one of their gigs (sniff, they were here a few days after S was born...missed it obv.). It's been a while, the last concert I was at was with DH last year, we had awesome seats to Muse. Fan-freaking-tastic.

K- now I'm going to go clean with Donkey Riding and When I'm Up.....and then rip open some Bare Naked Ladies.

  • Sounds lovely!!!

I envy those who have nighttime babysitters and can have date nights.  We've only had 1 since Aaron was born.  Honestly, nobody to watch him.  But it is what it is... he's worth it.

  • Oh Robyn.. I feel for ya!  Before this, we've only gone to one movie matinee and one Holiday party without Charles in his 17 months.

This time, I just asked my cousin if she'd be willing to sacrafice a Friday night to babysit and she said she'd love to!   She is single and lives about 50 miles away, but didn't bat an eye about it.  We don't have any family in our immediate area.

  • I'm glad you had a great time. It is good to get out.  I'm so thankful for inlaws that live relatively close, but not too close Wink (40mins) and for the daycare ladies that babysit too.

Oh and I love a McD's cone. Oh and how is this for romantic, one time for valentine's day DH got us one of those heart shaped pizzas that you cook at home.  I actually thought it was great, he even put it in the oven himself.
