TTC after 35

would you be worried?

My cycles are "normally" very regular.  I begin testing with opk on day 10 and usually get a smiley by day 12. . . with a toddler (and a 40 year old husband) this does not always mean we get to business.

The last 2 cycles have been a little off.  Last month AF showed up on day 24 and the cycle before I never saw a smiley.  This month I haven't seen a smiley yet either and I'm on day 14.  I'm trying not to jump the gun and worry unnecessarily because I know stress can throw things out of whack but I'm beginning to worry that I'm premenopausal and this roller coaster is only going to continue.

Any thoughts?  TIA

I wouldn't worry unless your cycles start staying really short.  It sounds like your body is adjusting from the short cycle you had last month and moving you back to your normal length.  Every couple of years my cycles change and readjust for a couple months.

Are you charting your temps?  You can easily miss positive OPK if you are only testing 1 time per day. I usually have to do it at least 2 times a day.  You could have a cyst which may cause a short cycle here an there.  How long have you been tracking, how old are you? Any recent birth control that you went off of ?

sorry - so long to answer - i had to go do my work - silly job getting in my way of bumping  :)

I am not charting this time because it's so hard to do with a little one who wakes me up at different times everyday but i may start again soon.  I'm 40 and do have a history with ovarian cysts - it's just been a long time since it's been a problem.  No birth control for years.

It makes sense that I'm just adjusting back to my normal cycles after the short one.  We've been stressed in my house too lately so I'm going to take the advice of waiting to see if I go back to normal.

    Thanks for your input.

    Hi!

I'm 40 and regular too with my periods. I don't get the smiley face either and have a toddler so I hear you on the basal temp and charting thing:) I am down in the dumps today because I got my period so I need to go for monitoring tomorrow (blood test) to see how my eggs are doing. DH goes for his sperm check on Saturday. Turning 40 I wonder too if I 'm starting to go through the change. At the same time I'm praying " Please just one more healthy baby .... that is all I ask."
