I think F was down to one nap at 12 months, but E seems totally fighting her afternoon nap the past few days. I am thinking of trying for one nap...but she is 9 months and it seems early. Plus I had them on a good schedule and they both napped at the same time in the afternoon....
anyone's LO give up their second nap earlier than a yr?
Re: When did your LO start 1 nap a day?
It seemed like it happened when she moved up to the waddler room at 10m. They only have 1 nap per day, so she would nap 11-1 or 2.
Sometimes DS only naps 1x per day, but he's pretty cranky by the end of the day and will snooze for 20 min around 5 pm. Those days are tough!
Honestly my 2 y.o. gets more sleep than he does. I think his schedule is just all over the place-- I'd be glad for 1 long nap per day!
I know, my 2 yo would sleep from 2 until 5 if I let him!
She just fell asleep while rolling around in her crib, I think she is at that age where the ability to move is making her want to be up all the time!
thanks!
B went to 1 nap at 13 months.
E and L went to 1 nap at 8 months because of our schedule.......
9 months is pretty young. I would just try adjusting the naps a bit. For example, DD#1 was taking good morning naps but also fighting her afternoon nap. So we either started her morning nap earlier so she'd be more tired by the afternoon, or we cut her morning nap short (woke her after an hour or so) so she'd be more tired by the afternoon.
It worked. She now naps for about 1hr-90min. in the morning and still takes a good afternoon nap. On the days she takes like a 2hr morning nap, afternoon naps are a challenge. But we just let her wait till later to take that nap and if it's too late in the day, I cut it short so she'll be ready for bed at her normal time.
Hope that helps!
