Obviously I think answers will vary based on preference... For me, I wanted something of great quality that I could use for all my babies and then even after... DH got me a black Kate Spade diaper bag... But it doesn't look like a typical diaper bag. More like a big tote. I LOVE it... I know I will use it for a long time. So for me, I would rather have spent a lot on one, thats more for me and that I will get years use out of.

I chose mine mostly brown but with some hints of pink on the inside for our girl. I had to keep in mind that my DH would be carrying it too so I didn't want to torture him with having to wear a really girly bag. But I still went with some pink tones on the inside lining of the bag.

When I used a diaper bag it was a green and brown one from Carter's that we got for free because we spent a certain amount there. Right now, I just have a diaper pod thingy that I throw in my purse along with a sippy cup because I don't need that much. If baby #2 is another girl, I will still use the brown and green bag.

My diaper bag matches my carseat, I have the Chicco Keyfit 30, Extreme is the color....we are team green and wanted it somewhat neutral....but my DH liked the color. I have seen tons fit the mothers style though...

In my opinion, its more of an accessory for the mother. I went with an all black Vera Bradley one. I knew I wanted a Vera Bradley bag and black was my preference because I want it to last for mutiple babies, not show dirt as easily and to be in a pattern that I wouldn't get easily tired of.
I got a blue and brown one this time, and it's another girl.
The bag is for the mom, who are we kidding.

Totally for the mom. I got a traditional diaper bag last time that matched the travel system we got. It was so stupid...I hated it (and the travel system too, haha!)
This time, I'm ditching the diaper bag. I bought a really nice, big leather purse that I plan to use. And although it's purple, I'd have still used it it without a question if we would've been having a boy.
We went with a bag that either my dh or myself could carry. It was just gender neutral. I didn't want something that looked babyish. I wanted it to look more like a bag.
I have 2 neutral bags (1 big, 1 small) so that DH won't feel like a freak carrying them. We're also Team Green, and bought all of our gear neutral. If you get something purse-like or girly, you'll probably need something different for your husband to use.
I cannot wrap my head around why someone would want a diaper bag to look babyish or to match the sex of their baby! To me, the diaper bag is an accessory for me. It will be a large tote-type bag that doesn't look anything like a diaper bag.

I wanted one that would fit what I wanted, as its likley going to be my purse for a while. I also wanted one that wasnt too "girly" incase DF needed it. I also didnt want one that was pooh bear, or other characters. I went with a petunia pickle bottom shoulder bag, and I actually happened to end up with two. I saw it YEARS ago, when my ex-sil got hers, and I had to track it down as it is a retired design. Its black and red. One of mine is now on ebay, (i dont need 2!!) https://cgi.ebay.com/Petunia-Pickle-Bottom-Diaper-Bag-Samba-Roll-/330547143590?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf62523a6
I now want the wallet, and another bag by them.

I'll probably get a bookbag or something similar. I have a pink and grey Tinkerbell bag that I got for school, that I love. But FI would not enjoy carrying it, so I'm going to get something a little more neutral to use a diaper bag.

I picked something that wouldn't look foolish on my husband's shoulder.

We ordered a nice brown corduroy bag off of babysteals. It's like a messenger bag style and my DH will be comfortable carrying it as well. It's not as girlie and stylish as I would like...but I'll make due
I plan to get a bag I love and want to carry around. DH actually found a black one shouldered back pack/messenger bag type diaper bag that I am going to register for for him to use when he has the baby by himself.
Well I ordered diaper bag #1 from thebump baby shop and its just a simple black bag with her name personalized in Lilac, i figured it would be easy to clean and still had a touch of girl in it. Plus i love anything personalized. But I will be looking for another diaper bag, that will be for other occasions.

The bag I got is black and white so its gender neutral and something DH is willing to carry.
