We put together the crib and dresser on Saturday. It took about 5 hours but it's all done. It really wasn't that hard, the hardest part was just opening the packaging and organizing everything.
(Don't you love DHs beer in there! He didn't want to move it and I was too exhausted to get off the floor!)
Additionally, on Sunday we were able to put up the wall decal we had made and glow in the dark stars and moon on the chalkboard wall.

We also bought the wall stickers that match the bedding we registered for and put one on the door to cover a spot we can't clean and I don't want to paint (no pic), and this little monkey climbing up the door jam!
ETA: We have more matching decals we're planning to put up, and on baskets, etc. but need to wait until we have bedding, baskets, etc!
Re: Productive weekend (PIPs)
It is the Storkcraft Beatrice and once it's in place it feels really sturdy and the quality is pretty nice. It's not solid wood, but not much is anymore! I will say that when moving it around trying to figure out exactly where to put it, it did feel a little wobbly, but once we set it down it was nice and sturdy. The color matches perfectly to the Tuscany crib (both espresso).
My main complaint about the dresser is that in the cabinet you have to have at least one of the shelves, otherwise there is nothing to stop the door from going in to the cabinet. Not a huge deal, but was a little annoying when a cat tried playing with it before we put the shelves in and the door got stuck for a few minutes. Nothing a butter knife couldn't cure though!
When I first thought of doing a chalkboard wall I was a bit hesitant but we figured that if we let him know he can only color on this one wall with his chalks that hopefully we'll avoid the whole, coloring on the living room wall thing that kids love to do. Maybe, maybe not! We'll have to wait and see how this works.
Plus, with the bedding I love how the chalkboard wall will look (or how I imagine it will look!)
Same here - I haven't really used it yet, but I recommend it thus far but it supported everything I put on it to test the durabiity so I'm confident it'll support a LO.
The packaging sucked but IMO that's to be expected with most furniture orders. Maybe I've just been jaded by crappy packaging though!
I have so many ideas for where to put chalkboard walls, things to paint with it, etc. but it would be overkill to do all of my ideas. We have a good amount left so I may do a few kitchen projects though!
