Baby shower question

Do people send out save the dates for a baby showers?  Just wondering because my baby shower will be right before or after Memorial day weekend and I know a lot of people start making summer plans so, I was thinking about having a save the date sent out.  I've gotten one before but not sure how common that is.

 Thanks.

Re: Baby shower question

  • I've had a few before.  I think it's common.

  • I've never seen that happen...plus if it's right before Memorial Day, that's only a little over 6-7 weeks out, and invites would normally go out around 6 weeks anyway.  So you might not have much need for a STD in that case.

I agree with this. I have never seen a STD for a shower. Send the invites plenty early and you should be fine. Everyone will not be able to come, but that's just the way it goes. It is a shower, not a wedding.

Oh I didn't even realize how soon that really is.  Thanks for pointing that out to me.  I guess sending out the invites now makes more sense.  Thanks!

  • I would just do regular invite. Mine will be over 4th of July weekend, and I don't plan to do STDs. I don't really expect anyone to change their firework watching plans anyway!

Yes, I think either Saturday or Sunday is very common and most showers I have gone to are in the afternoon.

This is when all of the showers I've been too have taken place.

Yes, I think that's pretty common...both of mine are 1pm on Sundays.
