I'm looking for ideas for our shoot next week. I bought outfits and what I thought were cute hats, but I'm drawing a blank on how best to pose them since they don't sit up all that well yet.
My girls were not sitting up on their own at 6mths. Here is one pic from their photo shoot at 6mths. Most of them were like this. They were always leaning on something

My girls had their pro pics taken just before they turned 6 months, so they still weren't sitting up very well. I have the album on shutterfly. If you are interested, you can PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you the album to check out.
Where are you having the pictures taken? We had our boys 6/7 month pictures taken back in October so we did them at a pumpkin patch. They couldn't sit up well either so we used things around the farm. The farm had a bunch of empty apple crates just sitting out so we plunked our boys in those and they ended up being my favorite pictures from the shoot. We also propped them up against pumpkins for some and then some others we layed them in the grass and the photographer was standing over them. Obviously you won't have pumpkins to work with but if you're doing them outside, are there things you could use to sort of prop them up (like trees, fences, etc.)?
E.T.A: Just saw that you live "where it is so so cold" so I'm going to go ahead and assume that maybe you're not doing them outside. But, maybe there are things wherever you are taking the pictures that you could use to prop them up?

I live in MI and it's supposed to be 40 degrees this week so we won't be able to go outside. But maybe there's some prop we can use inside to keep them upright.

YGPM!
Just sent you my album - let me know if you don't get it. You'll see the main prop we used to get them to sit up was a Radio Flyer wagon. Some of the other ideas (like the swing) won't work since you have to do indoor pics. But hopefully it'll give you some ideas. GL!
