I'm 26 weeks and have gained 17lbs... probably could have done better than that and be a few lbs lighter but I'm not trying to worry about my weight too much as long as I eat good and exercise and dont go over 30lbs. My doctor says between 20-35 is fine. My doctor that I work for daughter has only gained 5 lbs and she is 28 weeks... she says that her doctor says that is fine and she is healthy... I'm confused! Now I'm starting to worry that I'm gaining too much. Opinions?
Re: weight gain
Agreed. Don't try to compare yourself with others. I compared myself to others and it wasn't healthy. I had hyperemesis for 5 months and all the doctors and nurses told me was..EAT EAT EAT. And because I couldn't keep much down, I would eat whatever I could, not necessarily healthy stuff and now that I am better, I am eating healthier but I gained weight pretty quickly. But I look back to the first 5 months where I couldn't eat much and hated eating and am happy to eat now and stopped worrying about the numbers, as long as the doctors think I'm fine and I'm not eating french fries for every meal.
With DD I gained 35 total..Once I hit 14 weeks I was gaining 7lbs a month..I gained nothing at first..My cousin put on 60! Everyones different.
This time I'm down at least 20 and havent put anything back on yet but I started out 25lbs heavier than DD and I'm no mini..
My starting weight when I found out I was pregnant was 123, I am 26 weeks this week and I am up to 151! To me, thats crazy and I know its because for one, Im not hardly even exercising, I just havent been able to get motivated and when I am motivated I cant get to the gym. I also eat out with my parents once a week and my husband anywhere from 1-2 times a week so that doesnt help either.. we used to only eat out once a week total and now I'm eating out 2-3 times a week!!
My doctor never told me how much I should gain and hasnt said anything about my weight gain so I assume I am doing fine.
