Babies on the Brain

That was frustrating

I just got a call from my OB's office and it went like this:

"We got your first trimester screen back and it was normal."

"Great, can you read me the numbers."

"No, I am not authroized to do that, you can fill out a records release form at your next appointment and we can make you a copy."

"You can't just read me the report?"

"No"

"Seriously."

"No and we need you to go to the lab and have an A1C drawn."

"I did that Friday, and I didn't start my insulin because all the number I tested over the weekend were in range.  Can you please let Dr. know."

"Well, she's at the other office today and I will tell her tomorrow but she may want you to start insulin anyway, just not today."

Huh?  I felt like I was talking to a monkey.  They have a brand new office and brand new staff to go with it so clearly they have some stuff to work out.

  • Ugh, I hate that kind of going back and forth. It's your tests, you should be able to hear your results.

  • Yeah, I have to assume she wouldn't give them to me because she was uncomfortable with the interpretation herself and just gave me the lab interpretation.  I don't really give a shiit, just give me the number, read me the report, you don't have to do anything other than read the paper.
