crushed glass in cheerios box

My mom just called because she was eating the last of our cheerios and felt something hard in her mouth. It was a piece of glass. She dumped the box of cheerios (the box only had a few left) and found crushed glass at the bottom mixed with the crushed cherrios. I asked if she was sure it's glass and not plastic and she said yes. What should I do? This is the cherrios that DS has been eating all month.

Who do I tell/contact?

If it was inside the bag it probably didn't come from the grocery store, but they may be able to tell you who to contact.

I think you should call the manufacturer for sure. They will probably want some information off the box so have it handy

Maybe the FDA? I think they do quality control....

Call the 1-800 # on the box for the manu. They'll want to lot # and maybe the proof of purchase info so you will need the box handy.

I would call the number on the side of the Cheerios box. They'll want info off of that box, and I'd bet they'll send you coupons for another one. Thank goodness DS didn't get any glass!
