Birthplace at Salem Hospital

Anyone delivered there? I had my first appointment today with Swampscott OBGYN and of course their website makes the Birthplace look great but I read some really lousy reviews about it and now I'm wondering if I should change to go elsewhere.  We live in Lynn and it's hard for me to get to appointments in Boston so I'd really like something close by.

    I can not say enough good things about my experience at Beverly Hosp.  I have heard horror stories about Salem from a few people.  I see the OB's at Essex County OB, right across the st. from the hospital.

    I agree with Christine... I had a wonderful experience at Beverly as well as many people I know.  I know many people who had bad experiences with Salem...  Essex County as many office locations all over the north shore...

    Is Birthplace the freestanding birth center?  If so, it is NOT Salem Hospital, completely different.  My cousin gave birth to her babies at the freestanding birth center and absolutely raves about the care she received.

    No, Birthplace at Salem Hospital is the name of the Salem Hospital maternity ward.  The birth center is North Shore Birth Center I think.
