Chicco 2 Way Ultrasoft baby carrier?

So we bought a baby carrier last night I decided on the Chicco 2 Way.

But I have some hesitation about it...

1. DS about 8.5 lbs. 22 inces- hes 6 weeks old. He seems to swim in it now and it seems like he is so far away from our chest even when the buckles are tight.

2. The straps at the neck dig in and I think would bother when wearing for a period of time. We have only tried it in the house walking around.

3. Dh is worried that DS arm that he stick out of the left side (he keeps on in and one out) is getting the circulation cut off from the strap it leans on. He thought it felt colder than the other...?

4. There is no lumbar strap towards the bottom like others... I feel that might be better...

I spent $50 on it and really the Infantino $30 one is looking better to me..

Does anyone have the Chicco and what are your reviews of it?

We don't want a moby or anything like that, DH would never wear... I mean I MIGHT get one for me since seeing all the rave reviews but not sure yet. As I don't know how much id use it.

Any other under $60 carrier your recomend?

  • I'd pay the extra money and get an Ergo or Beco.  They do cost a little more, but you'll get much more use out of it.

  • I have the classic infantino, and like it, no lumbar support, but I have back issues and wore it for 4 hours the other day and it only got in the least bit uncomfortable at the end, it puts a lot of the wait between your shoulders instead of on them if you adjust it right, and you can adjust where the baby sits on your body too. I think the one I have is called the infantino swing.

  • I second the Ergo! I have had a Moby, Baby Bjorn, Infantino Eco Sash and a ring sling and I LOVE mt Ergo more then any of the others. It is so comfortable and lasts up to 40lbs and can carry LO 3 ways.
