We are finishing up a major reno of our kitchen so I got to pick everything out - meanwhile my H did all the work but I act like I should get the credit lol
We went all white - cabinets and appliances. The countertops are quartz and the color is "Snow". They are white but have flecks of other shades - it is just enough to stand out but close enough to still go with the cabinets.
The floor is a slate gray tile and the walls are light green. I am so happy with how it turned out
eaglesfan - that sounds LOVELY!! What colors are you using for dish/hand towels, dishes, counter appliances, rugs/art work/decor, etc? I'm dreaming about your kitchen right now! Enjoy it!!

Thank you (you too MalloryRae)! I have been looking for dark green glass containers for utensils and decor. But of course I can never find what I have in my head. There is also a wall where we are going to put a pot rack and bookshelf for my cookbooks
I haven't gotten new dish towels and all the little touches yet. My H is still finishing the ceiling - if you can believe it, it was an office-style drop ceiling when we bought it. He is right now installing a beadboard ceiling with new light fixture/fan
It has been such an unbelievable transformation - when it is totally done I will post before and after pics. I am so proud of my H for doing all the work
We have a burnt orange on the north wall and a tan/cream/orangish color on the the west and east walls. Our floor is white with gray "trim" (squares). Countertops are tan. Towels vary by the season. Dishwasher, toaster oven and blender are black, fridge, stove, microwave and coffeemaker are white.

yes please! I was going to request pics, but I didn't want to be demanding. Now that you have brought it up, I can't wait to see them!
white beadboard cabinets, hardwood floors, white appliances, black "starry night" silestone countertops (they twinkle!) and hydrangea (pale purple) walls. just did it 2 summers ago and we love it.
The walls are a neutral tan shade, and the cabinets are a medium brown. The appliances are black, and the counters are a cream/grey/black granite. I have a purple stand mixer and purple pots and pans.
We're planning to remodel our kitchen next year, so I'll tell you what we have and what we want to have. Currently, we have red oak cabinets with this odd pinky silestone for the counters. We picked a terra cotta for the walls solely because it was the only color we could find to work with the counters. Here's a pic.
Neither of us like it very much, however, and DH actively loathes the wall color. When we redo it next year, we're thinking probably a darker stain for the wall cabinets and possibly a distressed black for the island, with light granite countertops. I really like contrast. Then we'd do the walls in a medium light neutral color, possibly a light taupe or cafe au' lait.
Like Mallory, I am stuck in an apartment for now, with drab white walls. Blargh. But, when I get a house someday, it will be modeled after my mother's kitchen when I was a kid. Soft yellow walls, dark wood cabinets, and grey granite counter tops. The only difference is that I prefer black appliances, instead of the white that she had. And I will decorate with highlights of green.

Our cabinets are a dark craftsman style cherry wood with brushed nickel pulls, new venetian gold granite counter tops, beige/grey/cream tile backsplash in a subway tile design. Our floors are a darker wood as well (a couple shades lighter than the cabinets), we have stainless steel appliances and a warm beige on the walls (Sherwin Williams Macadamia). All of the doors and trim work in our house is cream colored, opposed to a pure white and I think the contrast looks nice together with the other colors in the kitchen. Since it is a fairly neutral palette, I change out the towels to coordinate with the season.
Maple cabinets, grey (gull- martha stewart paint) walls with sage green (that favors blue) counters. Our floor is the original hardwood and the backsplash is 1x1 inch tiles of creams, umbers, and deep maroon/reds. It might sound like a mishmash but it actually it quite nice, if I do say so myself
dark beech cabinets, tan/beige granite counters, beige tumbled stone backsplash in small rectangular tiles, dark wood floors, SS appliances. Paint is builder beige because the kitchen is part of our larger great room and we don't know what colors we want yet. We really haven't officially added a color scheme to our kitchen, but I think it will be blues and whites and grays because that is what we will do in the rest of the room. We both gravitate toward "cool" color palettes.
