My SIL just had her 3rd misscarriage last week. I feel like I have heard some ladies talk about some type of rx that you can take for your next pregnancy to help the LO stick. I may be wrong but if there is something what is it called. Sorry this may sound like a dumb question. I have never experience a BFP so I don't have any advice for her on misscarriages. Thanks

You are probably thinking of progresterone suppliments during the 2ww if she's activly TTC. If this is her third, I should hope her OB already has her on it. She might not be telling you everything going on in her medical issues, but you could kindly mention this and ask if she's concidered going to an RE to help her stay PG.

The only thing that I can think of that you might mean is progesterone, but honestly- you have no idea why she is miscarrying. It might be low progesterone, but it might be any number of other things (my progesterone levels were great and I still miscarried). After 3 miscarriages, she should definitely be seeing an RE, not just an OB, so I might mention that to her.
But as for other advice... especially about ways of making the baby stick, I wouldn't give it- for me, I really don't need/want to get advice of well meaning friends and family that have not gone through a miscarriage. It is very sweet that you want to help, but her doctors should be the ones giving medical advice. I would just try to be a shoulder if she needs one.
She should have the RLP (repeat loss panel) b/w done. If she has a blood or autoimmune problem there are things she could take to possibly prevent another loss such as baby aspirin or heparin/lovenox. Progesterone might make a difference also.
I hope she gets some answers.

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
I don't have any advice on what to take, although a repeat loss panel b/w does sound like a great idea. I just wanted to add that loosing an unborn child is still like loosing a child. It is very hard and difficult to express the emotional pain, the fear and the anger that goes with it. As my husband said "we may have only seen the heartbeat, but it still feels like we lost a child." I think its great you are being so supportive of your sister.
A visit to the RE would be my next step, even with the long drive. Most of them will do phone consults as well. Often times the blood work is shipped out to another lab, so I would think it may be possible to give blood within your own town but have it shipped to a lab that the RE works with. Could help down on drive time and give them the initial information on hormones, etc. that they need. Best of luck.
