Can we talk about vaginas?

Hi Ladies,

I don't where else to ask such a TMI question! However, do any of you feel ever get an achy feeling in your vagina? It is hard to describe, however, the best way to describe is how your vagina feels after some rough sex. Now, this is not my case because I've been on pelvic rest for awhile so I'm a bit concerned and was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing?  I've even ask my husband to check downstairs for any concerning signs. I'm thinking of calling my doctor tomorrow but thought I'd ask you ladies first!

Thanks!

Re: Can we talk about vaginas?

  • I get this constantly. The first time that I had it it was sooo bad that it hurt when I walk. I did call the dr who sent me to the ER. They tested baby and me and surprise surprise it was totally normal Round Ligament Pain. My dr said its just all that stretching that is going on down in your pelvic region that caused the pain. It hurts me especially after I do alot of walking or spend a lot of time on my feet but sometimes even hurts on my lounge days. If you want to be sure you can call your doctor though. Nothing better than peace of mind :) GL.

  • I haven't experienced this, but I've heard from a few people who had varicose veins in their vaginas and they described that kind of pain. Not even really a pain, per se, but discomfort.

Not that I'm a doctor, just relaying what I've heard. Also, in each case, they went away after the baby was born. (whew!!)

  • Yep. Lightning Vag. Good times, and totally normal.

  • It it like a pressure?? I feel heavy pressure in my vagina when I stand for too long. It feels like baby is low and about to fall out. I've felt this pressure since the beginning of my 2nd trimester and went for an ultrasound to make sure my cervix is closed. It wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor, maybe he/she would want to make sure your cervix is still closed as well.

  • Thanks Ladies-

I wouldn't even describe it as pressure. More so a dull ache and it tend to be more on one side. Ugh, we'll see! I have to get an ultrasound next Monday to check on a cyst that hasn't gone away so I'll def. have them check the cervix. If it doesn't get better by tomorrow, I'll be making a phone call!

Is it the right side? Round ligament pain tends to be on the right side! And it feels like a dull ache that goes on forever. No jk it comes and goes but I HATE IT.

  • Yep, my vagina aches all the time, more so on the right side. My doctor said it's either RLP or a varicose vein. No vein (yet...), so I just chalk it up to growing pains. It's not fun. I feel like either I rode a horse all day, or was repeatedly kicked in the vagina Jackass style over and over again. I've also experienced the sharp "lightening vag" pains, but this particular ache is different. Pregnancy is so much fun!

Yes, I get this, too!  I feel like I need to reach in there and shove the baby back in.  My cervix is fine, too.  My doctor said that the pressure is normal.
