We often post funny or "uneek"names and wonder what the parents were thinking...Well DH's best friend and his wife are planning on naming their son Zohn. Please tell me I am not the only one who thinks it is weird and sounds like a super hero.
DH and I have been laughing about it and yelling at them not to name him that assuming that they were kidding. Now that I think it is a serious thing I can't help but laugh on the inside because obviously you have to be supportive. I now know what the friends and family of the crazy names out there feels like.
I believe his MN is going to be Zachary so DH just keeps calling the baby Zack. Okay nothing really just wanted to share this.
Re: When good people choose a bad name...
I have a friend that has a married last name of Mount ... you have to be careful with that name anyway (personally I said if they had a girl they should name her Candice and then put her in gymnastics!)...
So what did they name their son???
Dixon.... Say it out loud. Wait for it... yeah. A friend of hers said something to her like "omigod, I just LOVE that name- but I am not sure it goes well with your last name...."
That poor poor kid. Middle school and high school will be hell.
Thats pretty bad...lol
One of my best friends is friends with a couple (got that?) whose last name is Anus (pronounced Anas but obviously looks like..well..). Now one would think-- thats already a rough last name to have so you would think they would make EXTRA sure that their child's first name wasnt anything that is tease-worthy. Well they have 1 child, a daughter and they named her...Taryn! Taryn Anus....poor kid
Zohn? Is that like John with a 'Z'?
DH and I just watched Baby Mama again and there is a scene where someone references two kids named Wingspan and Banjo. It's meant to be funny but I think we, as a society, are painfully close to finding these names on class rosters.
