Really late post-partum hairloss?

I'm talking REALLY late...

My kid will be 2 in less than two weeks!

So, I got my period 6 weeks pp. For everything else, I was pretty much on schedule. However, my milk took almost a year to dry up, and my hair never fell out. FF to the last week, my milk is finally gone (11.5 months later) and my hair is starting to fall out in clumps. Weird? Anyone else deal with this?

I am not worried about it. I read all the PP hairloss threads because I knew it would eventually happen, but I didn't think it would be this late. Hopefully, this will mean that my metabolism will finally kick in too!

    I lost a ton of hair PP, it started at around 3-4 months PP.  It also came out in clumps and I had some thinning spots.  But I think I lost more in 2010 due to stress, I literally had a receding hair line. Taking Hair skin and nail vitamins helped my hair grow back faster.  It will also help if you have some loss in vitamins due to diet.  I still take mine, which I give 100% credit to my hair growing 6 inches or more in the last year.

    Just curious are you still taking prenatal vitamins?

    Nope. I quit when I stopped BFing. And to be honest, I wasn't that good about it while BFing.

    I would get your thyroid checked just to be safe. This seems way too late to be post partum hair loss.

    I have had it checked twice. Once when I was pregnant and once a while back. Normal. It isn't like I have bald patches, it's just noticable that I am losing hair in the shower and when I take rubber bands out of my hair (probably because zero fell out after Max was born). And my hairdresser (who I hadn't seen in months) asked if I was pregnant again because my hair was still really thick. It is really late, that's why I though it was weird. But we are a thick haired clan! =P

    Have you been sick in the past few months? Twice in my life I've had pretty high fevers and then I end up losing hair a few months later. I also lose hair when I'm stressed, but again, it's usually a few weeks later when it starts falling out.

    Diagnosis: severe MFI, late ovulation, short LP, DOR
    Only option is IVF/ICIS. Waited several years before treatment because we're OOP.
    IVF/ICIS #1 in June 2012 (Protocol: Long Lupron). Stims: 6/17/12, ER: 6/30/12 (6R, 5M, 4F), ET: 7/5/12 (1 4AA embryo transferred, 0 made it to freeze) ~ Beta#1: 7/14/12 - 55, Beta#2: 7/16/12 - 100, Beta#3: 7/18/12 - 199 ~ Limbo for weeks, finally confirmed pregnancy not viable: 8/13/12 ~ D&C: 8/17/12 
    Varicocele Surgery: October 2012 (long break to wait for results, no change) 
    Changed clinics: February 2013 
    IVF/ICIS Attempt #2 in April 2013 (Protocol: Antagonist). Stims: 4/12/13, Cycle Cancelled: 4/17/13 for poor follicle response and low E2 rise. 
    IVF/ICIS Attempt #3 in May 2013 (Protocol: LEAP) Cycle Cancelled: 5/20/13 at suppression check due to cyst
    IVF/ICIS Attempt #4 in July 2013 (Protocol: LEAP). Stims: 7/20/13, ER: 8/1/13 (12R, 11M, 9F), ET: 8/6/13 (3 fair embryos transferred, 0 made it to freeze) ~ Beta#1: 8/15/13 - 86, Beta#2: 8/18/13 - 390.6, Ultrasound: 9/3/13 - TWO HEARTBEATS!

    No fevers. I may be stressed. There is a lot going on in my life right now, a lot is up in the air!
