DS sleeps most of the day, but when he's awake I want to try to keep
him entertained. We do tummy time, play on his activity mat, I read to
him....what else can I do with him? He's only about a week and a half
old.
at that age, not much. just hold him, let him look at your face and just talk to him. Babies at that age just love looking at faces. snuggle, sleep, look at things, sing songs. It feels very onesided for a while.
ds is now just beginning to interact back with me.

I have an 8 week old. When he's awake I talk or sing to him (he smiles now and talks back to me), sometimes I read to him, but that usually bores him, he plays on his activity mat usually 2 x a day so that I can pump, eat, use the bathroom, etc., we go outside on the porch and listen to the birds, and we usually leave the house at least once a day now even if it's just to the grocery store.
I got some finger puppets today and I think we'll probably play with those some tomorrow and see how it goes. Just another way to talk to DC and have something to talk about!
I mostly talk to her and let her look at me. We go outside and walk around the backyard some days. We also have a couple hand puppets I will show her. She's not awake much, so the times she is awake fly by.

hold him and cuddle since they don't stay that little for long
I talked a lot to her. Sing, read, silly things..
I loved to just hold her and cuddle, kiss, snuggle with her.
