Re: Once upon a child prices

  • Ours doesn't accept any socks.  Also, they just give a price for the lot.  I would say average 25-30 per basket full.  They send back anything that is too old or worn out.  They also send back anything that they don't really have a need for at that time.

  • Unless I'm looking for something specific, like an outfit for a special occassion or a pair of swimming trunks I don't shop at consignment stores. I find I can get a much better deal on Kijiji if I buy a "lot" of clothes. Just yesterday I got Pierce an entire summer wardrobe including shoes, pajamas and swimming trunks for $40! :)

  • Hard to say.... a lot depends of the condition, age & brand of the items.

I still take stuff there, but I am always disappointed at how little I get back.....they want to make their profit too!!!!

  • Are you talking about what they buy from you? I've never seen them offer more than $2-4 per item. Mine doesn't take socks. A $4 item would have to be a full outfit with tags and a name brand that's super cute. I don't know if that's the norm but ours offers very, very little. For bigger items they only offer about 20-30% of what they sell it for (so if you have a nice PnP that would sell for $100 they would only offer you maybe $20-30). I don't even try to take things there anymore. I just donate them or give them away.
  • They told me they give 50% of what they can mark it for

    Tanks generally run at 1.50

    Shirts 3.50 to 6.50

    Dresses 6.50 to 12.00

    Shoes 2.50 to 5.00

So you would get half of that!!!
