Whats going on, CDers?

Right now, I'm having stink issues with my nighttime diapers. I can't stand the way they smell after 12 hours and it's making me want to use sposies at night. It's that bad.

We use sposies sometimes at night, b/c we only have 2 overnight diapers. They're okay as long as DS doesn't poop first thing in the morning before we have a chance to change him. If that happens, the diaper is so full that we always have a blow-out.

We got our new Mommy's Touch covers in the mail a couple days ago. They're super cute and have worked well so far. I also like how I ordered them on Sunday and received them on Thursday. Way to go GMD! It took over a month for me to receive one fitted diaper from sustainable babyish!

I totally understand the stink issue, but I'm just glad she isn't soaked anymore in the mornings. I also like how I can't always smell her pee anymore like I did in sposies. Explain to me how CDs work as swim diapers? I feel like I should know this.

I think you just (with pockets) remove the insert and put the shell on them.

That FuzziBunz diaper is still up for grabs if someone wants it, btw! Other than that, not much is going on that's CDR.

J+MS, have you tried Rockin Green? I haven't ever had a funk issue and that's what we use. They always smell neutral (I use the Bare Naked Babies one so it doesn't have a scent).

I got that exact same email from the same person! It was 14 days on Monday and I still haven't gotten that email with a tracking number.

We use a Pampers Baby Dry diaper overnight. He pees way too much, and I'm not a fan of him having the wetness so close to his skin for that long. He was started to get a rash the last time we used a cd overnight.

I bought them during the big BumGenius sale! I love the artist series ones, they're adorable (and even more adorable in person!) I do love the yellow one the best.

OP, we were having stink, too. Switched to Rockin Green and did an overnight soak with about 6 rinses. (I was also having repelling issues) and that worked great! We had started using sposies at night because he was soaking thru to the sheets every other night. We use the pocket diapers but for over-night I recently ordered the hemp inserts. Boy has that made a difference! No more soaked thru baby in the mornings! It's been wonderful!

I did a stripping process today and it's a lot better. We will see how the nighttime stink holds up.

i'm just planning on buying a couple of reusable swim diapers. i think bay's pockets would leave a gap without the inserts. plus, i found some organic ones that are very inexpensive.

couldn't chlorine levels found in most pools cause damage to the diaper?

You just take out the insert and use the shell, but yes, once you use the pocket in the pool, you can't use it as a regular diaper again. I have a few pockets I hate so I plan on using them as swim diapers, but I wouldn't use your favorite pockets.

I could not stand the smell in the morning and sometimes I could smell it in the night (we bed share). I was using a pocket diaper stuffed with a microfiber insert and a hemp doubler. I switched to a fitted diaper (pooters hemp and bamboo) with the bamboo insert it came with plus a hemp doubler and I use a wool cover. No more stink and never a leak.

It has changed how I feel about fitteds, which is not going to be good for my finances...

And I love wool.

I just got 3 hemp doublers. Anyone know how I should prep/wash them? Do I have to prep them alone since they're hemp?

I also (gulp) just got some mama cloth.

Bummer about the stink. I have no good suggestions, just wanted to sympathize because I know it is really rank.

Boil them once and then throw them in the washer with your next diaper load. That will get them good enough to use.

i just ordered some wool covers to try from etsy, i'm sad i waited so long because i think i will like them better than pul.

chibimommy, are you sure you're allergic to the wool itself? most wool sweaters and things have been processed/ dyed and that's actually the cause of many people's allergies.

not that you or your son couldn't have a real allergy to it, i just thought you might want to know that in case you really wanted to try wool covers. here's a link i found that explains wool and allergies in more detail.

i see. i only have a few bg pockets for night time so i will just get a separate swim diaper. they're all aplix anyway, i think i'd rather use snaps for the pool.
